Committing to Life Skills: Dana W.

Dana W.

November ’22 Life Skills Participant

Dana W. describes her journey through life as “moving fast but going nowhere.” Instead of staying on an aimless hamster’s wheel, she decided to pursue a new path at StepUp Ministry.

Although she has known about StepUp for many years through her job and other community members, it was not until recently that she decided to attend the Life Skills program. “Making the goal to commit to Life Skills was huge for me. Money management and credit improvement are skills I hope to walk away with so I can help my family and those around me break generational curses and get out of a generational poverty mindset,” she shares.

Dana’s time in the Life Skills program has included facing some of her challenges: “Discussing how suicide has affected my life was a blessing — I was able to release and let go of some of the pain I have been carrying around for so long.”

Individuals like Dana are motivating examples of people whose lives are changed through StepUp.  It is a joy to celebrate her success!
