2026 StepUp Ambassador Pamela W.: Bringing the Magic to Life

Pamela came to StepUp at a time when life felt uncertain. After years of recovery and living with a disability, she was rebuilding her life, but struggled to imagine what a hopeful future could look like.

Encouraged by a friend, Pamela joined StepUp and quickly found more than support. She found community, purpose, and a renewed belief in herself.

“They met me right where I was. StepUp showed me that I still had value.”

Through lessons in core values and financial literacy, encouragement from others, and opportunities to grow, Pamela began to rediscover the strengths that had always been within her: generosity, integrity, compassion, and resilience.

Over time, Pamela became more grounded, fulfilled, and confident. Today, she sees herself differently. She shows up as her authentic self and has found joy in using her gifts to encourage and uplift others. She continues to give back to the community that helped change her life, serving as a speaker, volunteer, co-partner, alumna, and member of StepUp's Board of Directors.

For Pamela, the key was that StepUp did not try to turn her into someone else. Instead, it met her where she was and offered the support, encouragement, and community she needed to grow. She came to understand that her compassion was not a weakness, but a strength. The impact also extended to her son, who has seen firsthand how StepUp helped her become a more grounded and fulfilled mother. These transformations changed everything.

“I tell people that there’s something magical that happens here. This organization gives people stability, restoring strength to the family and helping people find their own rhythm in life. To make a person flow in their own rhythm, it’s magical.”
