Taneisha Receives Car Blessing

Taneisha moved to Raleigh, from Brooklyn, New York, two years ago with her mother, daughter, and a few bags full of her personal belongings.

Taneisha has completed our Jobs Program and is currently in Phase II of the Life Skills Program. She currently works full-time as a customer service representative and attends school full-time at Wake Tech pursuing her degree in Social Work.

A typical day for Taneisha starts by getting up and leaving her home by 7:00 a.m. She takes the bus with her two children to drop them off at daycare. Then, she rides a bus to Wake Tech for classes. After school, Taniesha catches another bus to Triangle Town Center where she has a twenty-minute walk to work. By the time Taneisha gets off work at 11:00 p.m., the buses are no longer running, so she pays for a cab home.

Taneisha’s dedication day in and day out is inspirational. On Thursday, November 5th, Taneisha received the keys to her FIRST car - keys that will make things easier for her and her children.  A special THANK YOU to Wheels for Hope for their vision of providing reliable and affordable transportation.
